THE ROLE

You will be working on a variety of projects for commercial and private clients. The projects will include seismic assessments of existing buildings and strengthening designon a range of structural projects. This is a diverse role including the preparation of preliminary and detailed designs, project administration and management, on-site investigations, and technical development.

This is a permanent role with an immediate start.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To succeed in this position you will need:

  • A New Zealand Structural Engineering qualification.
  • Knowledge around and experience in determining construction methods, materials, and quality standards, and drafting, interpreting, and evaluating specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures.
  • Good understanding of the non linear properties of the available construction materials, especially concrete and steel.
  • Some experience with FEA analysis and computer models is essential.
  • Report writing.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate specifications, drawings , plans and construction methods.
  • 4-6 years of NZ consultancy experience
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Great work ethic.
  • Computer Savvy.
  • A curious nature with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Both technically and interpersonally strong.

Intermediate Civil Engineer

THE ROLE

This is an intermediate role which will be responsible for preparing civil engineering designs under the supervision of a Senior Engineer. You will provide specialised technical service requiring general application of practices, techniques, concepts, and theoretical principles. You’ll typically be involved in medium-sized projects.

As an Intermediate Civil Engineer you will be planning the implementation of small projects, it may be expected of you to organise/chair project meetings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To succeed in this position you will need:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 4+ years’ experience.
  • Well advanced in Civil 3D and 12D Model design is preferred.
  • Ability to deliver infrastructure investigations and reporting with little assistance.
  • Play a key role in compiling tender documentation and schedule of prices.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills.
  • A curious nature with a strong focus on continuous improvement with great work ethic.
  • Both technically and interpersonally strong.
  • Be up to date with relevant technical standards, legislation, and codes of practice.

You will be responsible for planning, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to completion.

In this senior role you will be required to interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders, this will include collaboration with the Structural senior leadership team.  You will manage several moving project parts simultaneously whilst focusing on high quality project delivery.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To succeed in this position you will need:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 7 - 10 years or more experience in similar role.
  • CPEng (Chartered Professional Engineer) in New Zealand.
  • Experience with non-linear seismic assessments would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills.
  • Be up to date with relevant technical standards, legislation, and Codes of Practice.
  • NZ consultancy experience would be preferred.
  • A curious nature with a strong focus on continuous improvement with great work ethic.
  • To be both technically and interpersonally strong.
  • The ability to interpret and evaluate specifications, drawings, plans and construction methods.
  • Experience in managing a team and have the ability to mentor your team members. Previous leadership experience preferred but not essential.
